Composer Alan Menken and actress Ellen Greene performed last night at the New York Film Festival’s world premiere presentation of Little Shop of Horrors: The Director’s Cut. This video is from a different angle than the one I posted before and has the full performance including Menken’s Little Shop medley before “Somewhere That’s Green.”

Absolutely breathtaking. So so so jealous I couldn’t go…

Also, HERE is EW’s Q & A with Frank Oz.

I know I posted the YouTube link to this interview already, but I want it on my blog in this format, because anything can happen to a YouTube video.

Frank Oz on Little Shop of Horrors re-release, remake, and original ending. (by KawlunDram)

Q&A on May 16, 2012. You’re welcome, world.

Don’t watch this if you haven’t seen the film, because it will completely spoil the story. But here’s what I was talking about, the first part of the original tragic ending that was cut from Little Shop of Horrors (1986) because test audiences didn’t respond well to it. The other two parts are good, but this one actually makes me want to cry.

It’s in black and white because the color version apparently got destroyed in a studio fire in the 90s, but supposedly the director owned a copy that was still intact. This was included as a special feature on the original DVD of the film, but then was recalled after only five days, so DVDs containing this original ending are a collector’s item. But now, thanks to the magic of YouTube, we can all see it! Fuck you, SOPA.
